About YAKKUM

YAKKUM

“Being healthy is part of one’s faith experience. To this day we are there through public health services.”

YAKKUM or Christian Foundation for Public Health is a church-based organization engaged in the field of public health and humanitarianism.

It was established by the Javanese Christian Churches (GKJ) Synod and Indonesian Christian Churches (GKI) Synod of the Central Java Region since 1950.

Root

We believe that our work is an extension of the church to reveal God’s love for all people to the ends of the land.

With this spirit, we strive to be a holistic health care institution that is superior, strong, and continues to grow.

Currently, YAKKUM has an extensive network of services, including:

  • 13 hospitals and 12 clinics
  • 3 Humanitarian Social units
  • 1 College of Health

History

Founded in 1950 by two synods, the Javanese Christian Church and the Indonesian Christian Church of Central Java Region.

Our journey to establishment has started since the end of the XVIII Century.

Philosophy

YAKKUM serves with heart, is our philosophy that grows from the spirit of “tetulung” (Javanese language), means extending support or helping

It is a spirit that drives us to be able to provide appropriate  public health services to the community and at the same time increase their  health status and attainments.

In health care, we strive to ensure that no one is left behind.

Logo

The YAKKUM Logo consists of a unified image: a cross in White, a dove in light blue, a hand open upwards in dark blue, a circle in dark blue, and the inscription YAKKUM.

All of them are combined into a symbol/logo of the vision and mission of YAKKUM ministry based on the Old Testament and New Testament Bible.
